Now, you must be wondering that "If the drugs are so harmful for us then why do we take them?” Well, drugs aren't harmful if consumed in minimal quantities but excess of everything is disastrous and so is the case with drugs.

The side effects of drug addiction may include:

       A weakened immune system

       Nausea and abdominal pain

       Lung disease

Problems with attention, memory and decision making

       Liver damage

So, to avoid these side effects and drug addiction, awareness about drug addiction becomes essential.

The theme for the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking 2020 was "Better Knowledge for Better Care". This theme emphasized on the need of better knowledge and education which will in turn help greater international cooperation for countering the effects of drugs on health.

Getting rid of any habit is painful, but for a better future one has to definitely try their best. One should always remember "New Beginnings are often disguised as painful endings".
