World Photography Day
I wake up
with a caress on my head, “Who opened up the curtains so early”.
And that is how my morning starts. I see him brewing coffee with a visible
frown on his head, he must be having a difficult day ahead. I stick to the
basics then and sit quietly till he puts me to work. You see, being a camera
isn’t easy, with constant flash tremors, shutter runs, gear
changing settings, and hard work. But it is fun.
I see him
packing his bags with a lunch box. “Ah”, I exclaim, it must be
another travel day. He hits the road quite often; he is after all a Landscape
photographer. He brings me out often these days and smiles at me with
visible hope. Not a day goes by when he does not caress my precious
polycarbonate with sparkling eyes, why should he not? I am the gear to his
dreams.
I get
chills as he often takes me to capture sunsets and cold places. His recent
project required me to let out condensations, but at the end of the day, I
always sleep on a mushy soft covering, he makes sure to keep me safe. He takes
me to places and we explore the world together. We sit together for hours until
I am suddenly picked up to feel a painful shutter, “That hurt! Inform me
beforehand!”, but to seeing him satisfied with the result I give him, I
quiet down and let him rejoice, its my ultimate joy to see him to see him feel
proud about his work.
I see him often;
he is mostly quiet. I always keep him company though. Sometimes he leaves me
alone for days, but he always returns with a smile. I feel the pangs of
darkness, covered with a lens protector. You see, my eyes are really precious
and delicate.
We return
to home, a home that changes places. We have traveled quite a lot together. He
brings me to places while I capture them for him. I capture memories for
us.
I am the
camera of this one Photographer, he treats me with care. He brings me to
heavenly places; I capture heaven for him. You see, I am important too.
Until
tomorrow, when he will wake me up for yet another hiking session, I sleep.
