Happy Independence Day!
First of all, Happy Independence Day!! 74 years of Independence is a big deal.
Of course, there were a few humps and bumps in between but to me it is the progress that matters. Do you know just how many attacks and wars have happened on India’s borders and how hard it is to maintain peace in the country? It is due to the peace that Indian Independence prevails.
Independence Day is the day when all Indians, no matter how distinct they might be, come together to remember and commemorate the valiant efforts of all the soldiers who have fought on the borders. It is not easy being a soldier. It requires tough training and endless determination along with courage and instinct. A soldier is armed with the memory of his family to ignite hope within and the impervious duty to protect his motherland.
You may think that patriotism means only respecting our country and celebrating a few days together, however it is the overwhelming feeling of pride that fills the empty space and carves that special spot in our hearts for all those who have sacrificed for the good of our country. One should never forget about the biggest and greatest patriots, our soldiers. They are ready to risk their lives and give their all for the love of their nation. Every life matters and not everyone is willing to go and risk their lives at the borders to protect and serve their country. However, those who are, can be considered as angels sent by God. That is what they are for me anyway. That is why I took up my career as a soldier.
I have noticed people fretting over trivial things thinking that all is lost. Well, a soldier truly knows what grief is and how one should recover from it. You must not despair, but rather remain strong and learn to accept it as a part of life.
The tough life of a soldier has taught me to focus on the small things in life and eventually it is those small things that bring a smile to your face or ignite that spark in your eye. Remembering the vast courtyard, where we ran carefree, helps me focus on my task of guarding my motherland. I really hope these few words of mine have moved you to do even better and become a better citizen.
Jai Hind!
