Chana (Chickpea) Chaat

recipe. To have a healthy diet, breakfast is an important source of nutrition.
We often miss our breakfast due to many reasons and later on use sugar substances,
energy drinks or caffeine to supplement our energy. Having a hearty breakfast daily,
improves your mind and helps you to perform better, it provides you strength
and makes you active throughout the day. Hence today we bring you Chana Chaat or Chickpea Chaat as a
nutritional supplement in your breakfast menu.
Ingredients- 1 Bowl of Chickpea (White), 1 Medium size Tomato,1 Medium size Onion, 1or 2tsp Chopped Coriander leaves, ½ tsp Salt, ½ tsp Chaat Masala, Lemon Juice (for garnish)
Procedure:
Preparation of Chana
1. Soak 1 cup of Chana (white chickpea) in water overnight (8-9hrs) and
later on drain all the water.
2. Put the chickpea in a pressure cooker, add ½ tsp salt to it and cover the
lid properly and pressure cook it on medium flame.
3. When the pressure falls down, remove the lid. Check the chickpeas, you
should be able to mash it easily, there should be no firmness. If it isn’t
ready, then add more water to it and pressure cook it for a few more minutes.
Preparation for Chana Chaat
1. Drain all the water and put the chickpeas aside.
2. Rinse tomatoes and onions and mince them.
Making of Chana Chaat
1. Take the cooked chickpea in a mixing bowl and add ½ tsp chaat masala and
salt as per taste and mix it properly.
2. Add the minced onion, tomato and coriander leaves to it.
3. Add 1-2 tsp lemon juice as required.
4. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and check the taste
5. Serve the chana chaat in a bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves.

2. Tomatoes are an excellent source of lycopene which facilitates the immune

3. Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C and is a natural antioxidant.
4. Onions are a great source of antioxidants and help our body in several
ways like they prevent inflammation and boost immunity.
