Celebrating pride month

 Dear Q,  

First of all, I hope that you and your family are safe and doing well. And secondly, Happy Pride Month!!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 This month gives such good vibes, I feel fresh and happy and it feels like all my fears are melting away. 

We celebrate June as the pride month because in June 1969 in New York City’s Greenwich Village, police raided the gathering of the LGBTQIAP+ community at the Stonewall Inn. This led to a spark that ignited many other movements in different parts of the world for the liberation and rights of the LGBTQIAP+ community. But hey, I’m not here to give you a history lesson. 🤭

My favourite part of the Indian pride month celebration is the pride parades!! 🏳️‍🌈So many people from the community come out (pun intended😉) and march, the streets are filled with the colours of the rainbow🌈 and it all is so mesmerising. It is incredibly sad that we won’t be able to be a part of the pride parade this year because of the Covid Pandemic.😷

Nonetheless, I think everyone has planned and we might celebrate pride month Virtually!!!🏳️‍🌈🖥️

My way of celebrating pride month would be reading a bunch of books with LGBT+ theme and by LGBT+ authors. 🏳️‍🌈📚I will be taking part in different pride readathons and I have this month planned to the T. 

Also, if you are a closeted person in the community, it’s completely okay. I know how it feels, the anxiety, and the fear of knowing how people will react when you come out, especially the people you love. ❤️But it’s okay, take your time and only come out when you are comfortable in your skin. 🕓 It’s okay if you feel scared or even terrified. The whole community is with you. 🏳️‍🌈

One should always remember, Love is Love. ❤️💓No matter what. And it’s your choice, how you want to identify, what pronouns you want to use, what you want to wear, it’s all your choice and never let the bad juju get to you! :))🥰

You are amazing just the way you are, don’t change yourself for anyone else. 🙌I am proud of you, and it's time you let the rainbow into your life! :))🌈
